Plot: Yet another version of the classic epic, with enough variation to make it interesting. The story is the same, but some of the characters are quite different from the usual, in particular Uma Thurman's very special maid Marian. The photography is also great, giving the story a somewhat darker tone.
Movie Quotes: Maid Marian: So what are you going to do to me? Tie me up?
Robin Hood: Could be a lashing.
Maid Marian: How many strokes?
Robin Hood: As many as are necessary.
Maid Marian: And then it's finished?
Robin Hood: That depends. Have you ever been lashed before?
Maid Marian: I've never had someone make me beg them to stop.
Robin Hood: Then you've never had a proper lashing.
Crazy Credits: We know about 1 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
Filmed entirely in Europe, not far from the Vatican.
Goofs: We know about 6 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Revealing mistakes: When the arrow shot from a longbow supposedly punches through a helmet on a post, the hole is the size of the arrow shaft, not the arrowhead.
Trivia: There are 5 entries in the trivia list – like these:
- 'John Lithgow' almost never blinks during this film. He wore a contact lens to give the impression that his Earl T. Blake character had a glass eye.
- Mary Ellen Trainor played reporter Gail Wallens, a character she also played in Die Hard (1988).
- Denzel Washington worked out for three hours a day, six days a week for four months so as not to look out of shape for his shirtless scenes.

Crazy Credits: We know about 1 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
On the DVD version of the film, the opening credits are different. There are occasional pauses in the original animation where additional voice actor credits are inserted. This is not in the original release, or in the earlier VHS versions.
Goofs: We know about 15 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Continuity: The rings on Prince John's fingers change from hand to hand and sometimes disappear completely. This is most noticeable during the tournament scenes where Prince John is talking to 'The Duke of Chutney' and also during the scenes where he is asleep and Robin is stealing the money bags from his room.
Trivia: There are 14 entries in the trivia list – like these:
- The dance sequence after the archery match uses animation sequences taken directly from earlier Disney films. Specifically, the dance between Little John and Lady Kluck is that of Baloo and King Louie in The Jungle Book (1967); a dancing cat playing a wind instrument is Scat Cat from The AristoCats (1970). Plus, the rabbit that plays the drums was a borrowed shot of the Chinese Cat in The AristoCats (1970) playing the drums; and Maid Marian dances with the same movements as Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). Additionally, Robin and Marian dancing together is the same dance shared by O'Malley and Duchess in the Aristocats.
- A portion of the opening theme music was used for the infamous “hamster dance” website, being played at double speed.
- The bell in the tower of Friar Tuck's church was a real bell added into the film.
